The darkness would be shreded with the screams of a man and woman in a remote home of the Grey Terra. The killer, their own son. The sight within the home would be one of sheer horror. A young boy, the mere age of seven, sat in a pool of blood. Body parts and such splattered the walls. The young boy seemed out of it, his eyes solid black and cast off into space somewhere. He dripped with the blood of his parents and his clothes clung to his body. Slowly, his body would fall to the side and a pulse of power familiar to those of Terra would be issued out.

Outside the castle, the weather was beautiful. Not too warm, not to hot, a gentle breeze, with only a few puffy clouds in the sky. Ebony, the proud mother to Rowan and proud wife to Fox was playing outside with their one and only son. He was growing so fast it seemed to her. He was walking a few steps on his own, grabbing things, ripping things, normal baby actions, but it was the other abilities that made her nervous. The little boy was able to spew fire from his mouth, move things with strength that was not normal to a baby, and on his back were little nubs that looked like they would turn into wings. She sat in the grass with her arms open to him. "Come here, Rowan." She said with a soft laugh and he let out a childish squeal and walked shakily over to her. Suddenly, something in the air did not feel right. She held her child in her arms and looked around for a moment, wondering what it was she just felt. <e>

Fox stood on the deck of a freshly built tower. The newest addition to the Ashworth estate had been put in place by Fox himself. The need for him to see over the tall and ancient trees around the grounds had grown just as the war effort took a harsh turn. Though they had managed to clear out almost all of Ebony's motherland, they could not continue moving forwards. Somewhere in Terra, an evil was woke by the unmistakable march of its war machines. Though nothing had happened yet, it worried him to know that a great evil was now loose in his lands. A flash of his last moments with Simi, years past, crushed his spirit ever so slightly. Time had dulled the wound of his actions, but loosing one of his best friends, and by his own hands no less. That was something that would haunt him for years more. Or so he thought. Just as he sat down the hammer and nails a familiar burst of energy rushed his senses. Taking a brief second to put the hammer in his belt loop and grabbing a chain, he jumped from the towers ledge. Twelve stories is a great fall, regardless of who you are, but to Fox it was nothing to the echoing emptiness that this power struck. Stopping by Ebony and his son, he simply said, "Its him." And took off running at full speed towards where the energy came from. The bloody mess he found would have scared him years before, but not now. Especially because it stank of the source's energy. <E>

She stood up slowly from her crouched position with Rowan in her arms. She knew Fox must have felt it too and looked up to the tower, only to see him rapidly descending and then standing beside her. "Him? How can that be?" She asked before he was gone, "Fox?!" She called after him looking worriedly in the direction he had gone. Rowan stared off to where his father had disappeared to it was almost as if he too could feel the change in the air. <e>
Even from outside, Fox could see and smell the blood and energy. The plants and animals for nearly a mile had gone still and silent, as if all of nature around this house was deathly afraid. Slowly, having to contain his excitment and revulsion, he pulled on the door. When it didnt budge, he had to yank it off its hings, nearly destroying the entire side of the house. He blinked in suprise at the amount of force he used. He breathed as deeply as he could, having to fight back the bloodlust that normally overwhelmed him in close vicinity to such violence. Looking around in the quickly darkening house, he searched for the child the source had spoke of so long ago. His body had to radiate energy to keep the resounding force of the source's energy from forcing his body to change. This energy was to Fox, as radiation would be to a superhero. If the boy woke at all he would have seen a tall, muscly, creature of darkness and glowing eyes looking around, then eventually at him. Gingerly taking the young boy in his arms he carried him from the house. The black crystal he clutched tightly to his chest glowed faintly, and Fox knew what it was. Holding the child in the crook of his massive arm, he reached for the crystal with his free hand. If the abyss wanted him to hold the crystal for the child, then it would react to his presence in such a way as a familiar dog would with one of its master's friends. <e>

The stone would fade as Fox touched it. Then it would pulse three times before fading again. In Fox's head the voice of the Source would he heard. "Rarkeni..." The voice would speak the name of the Lord's primary weapon.
Ebony Ashworth
She had no idea what all of this could be about, but she did worry for Fox and hoped everything was alright. Her gargoyle wings opened up and she flew from the ground in front of the estate with Rowan in her arms and up to his room. She gently placed him in his play-pin with plenty of toys to keep him occupied then waited anxiously for Fox to return. <e>

Fox could hear and feel the source again, for the first time in a long time. It spoke and reacted to him in an oddly familiar way. Taking the child to his home, Fox tried to think of where the weapon would be, but as for right now it was unimportant. First thing first he needed to get the boy to his home. It would be the only place where the child could grow without the rest of the world trying to hunt him. Once he got close enough to the house he called out to his wife, just loud enough for her to know that he was there and safe. Carrying the boy with both arms now, he took the sleeping child to the room that used to be Fox's study. (The new study was in the tower, just to the left of it in the hallway) When he finally saw Ebony and his child he smiled. "Here he is. This is what the source told me about, before our child was born." Looking to his son he smiled, "This child is going to be your brother. I want you to be nice to him when he wakes up, ok?" <e>

The child would sleep for many hours then finally awake...
Sitting up from the bed he had been placed in, he would look around the strange new home he had been brought to. He knew that if this wasn't his house then he had been taken or sent here for some reason and shouldn't be worried. He wasn't sure how he knew this, he just did. As he would stand he would move to the door and open it and peek outside. Despite being only seven his mentallity was nearly that of a sixteen year old. He had logic and thought processes and could determine right from wrong with guidance as to what they were. He would slowly take a step out of the hallway when a Voice told him a name the name was Fox Ashworth. He knew then he had to seek this person out and immediately set forth about the near maze like home of the Ashworths.
Ebony Ashworth
She looked out from the balcony and saw Fox coming forward. She heard his call to let her know he was there, but she was puzzled by what she saw laying in his arms. she came out into the hall to see him carrying the child. "How is that him?" She asked in amazement. She glanced at Rowan and then to Fox. She had not realized that she would suddenly be the mother of two children, one that was her's by birth and another that was being adopted into the family. <e>

While they waited, Fox took his wife up to where he was working and talked with her while he did what he could to dissipate the nervous energy that had found its way to his bones. "That is him, Eb. No one else could have let loose that type of energy. Its been so long since Ive even felt the source, but I would never forget the feeling of its power. I know that when I did what I did with Simi-" A flash of his memory stopped him for a second. That final battle in the void itself, " that my connection to the source would all but surely be reduced to near nothing. I might be imagining it, but I swear that I can feel it again." As he spoke he continued to move and place boards. Each one was secured in place with four massive nails, and each nail with a single thundering blow from a hammer. "This is the child. The one that will master the source and become the creature that it wants. Im the one who is going to have to reteach him how to use his powers, and to use them with morality." He paused in his speaking for a moment as something brushed his mind. A voice whispered in his ear, "he is awake." Looking at Ebony he told her to meet him in the garden by the stone benches that rested under the apple trees. Waiting until she left, he looked over the edge and watched the stone balcony that was just outside the kitchen. If the child was hungry, then he would find the food with his nose, and end up outside on the deck, drawn out by his natural need to be outside. <e>

The child would wonder the house lost at first until he caught scent of food. He would lick his lips hungrily as he would begin to navigate the manor following the scent of food and what appeared to be a way outside. He never knew why but he rarely liked being contained indoors. He would at last find the kitchen where he found a slab of raw meat and a knife to cut a chunk of it off with. Taking the fistful of meat with him he would wander out the doors of the kitchen and into the garden where he began to eat the raw meat with ease, his sharp canines ripping through the meat like small knives as he devoured, slowly, the entire piece of meat.
Ebony Ashworth
She went with him to where he was working while she left Rowan to play in his pen. Should he get fussy, the servants could tend to him. She listened to him speak and when he spoke of that time with Simi she put her hand out to touch his shoulder in a comforting way and gave him a light nod that said it would be alright. She nodded slightly again when he finished. "I understand that, Fox...and I will do my best to help you...and mother the child as best I can, though it will be an adjustment. Just...be careful not to forget about your -own- child..." She said and then she slowly nodded. She opened her wings and flew to the garden by the stone benches to wait under the apple trees. <e>

He would move outside and see Ebony under the trees on the stone benches. "Oh, I am sorry, I didn't mean to take the meat, but I was so hungry." He would say finishing of the meat and licking his hands clean and wiping them off on his clothes which had become clean during his sleep as the Source had changed them for him.
Ebony Ashworth
She smiled at him and shook her head, "It's alright. I am sure you were very hungry." She patted the spot on the bench beside her, "Come and sit with me." She said with a warm smile, her large demonic tail swaying behind her lightly as she sat. She waited for him to sit before speaking again, "What is your name?" She asked, thinking that he might not have his memories from before. <e>
Ebony Ashworth
She smiled down to him, "It is nice to meet you Xyvn. My name is Ebony." She watched him with a warm gaze. "Maybe you had a dream about a castle and it looked something like this one." She suggested, "Xyvn, how old are you?" <e>

"Maybe..." He would say as he would look up at the apples on the tree licking his lips again already hungry again. "Seven," he would say simply as he would stand up on the bench and try to reach one of the apples. Despite even a jump attempt he came short and glare at the apples on the tree with his crimson eyes.
